COOKING IN WELLNESS

Food is a shared experience among all people that involves not only an emotional connection to self and others, but also a practical knowledge of how to choose and prepare foods. In this progressive cooking group, we will turn our intent towards the practical application of nutrition therapy - from planning meals, to choosing ripe foods, to feeling comfortable and confident in the kitchen! Dates will be determined based on group consensus, forming April - December during Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market. Contact Hannah Sabella, Registered Dietitian, at 770-835-5728 or hjsabella@gmail.com for more information.

YOGA AND BODY AWARENESS

Yoga offers an opportunity to practice balance, self-awareness and inner listening. This group will focus on appreciating and listening to the body through the practice of yoga.

Using breathing techniques and yoga poses, participants will practice paying attention to bodily sensations, noticing subtle adjustments in posture and position to explore a pose and learning to stop at a place that feels right. There will be time allotted for the group to process their experience.   This is an 8-week weekly group that runs for an hour and a half.   No yoga experience is necessary and all fitness levels are welcome.

A clinician who is also a registered yoga instructor facilitates the group. Please contact Hannah Hawkins-Esther LCSW RYT200   770-595-4510
