She later worked at an eating disorder treatment center, partnering with individuals and families across inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization levels of care. SPECIALTY AREAS
Eating Disorders & Body Image
Summer has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults who are struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. She draws from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to help clients build skills, increase insight, and move toward recovery. When working with younger clients, Summer uses FBT (Family-Based Treatment) to empower parents and support systems to take an active role in the recovery process. With adults, she continues to emphasize the importance of connection and support, recognizing that recovery is not meant to happen in isolation. She is also experienced in treating co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, and OCD.
Summer understands that recovery from an eating disorder is an overwhelming, nonlinear process. She provides a compassionate and steady therapeutic presence, helping clients feel supported as they navigate the challenges of healing.
Anxiety & OCD
Summer works with individuals experiencing a wide range of anxiety disorders and OCD. She uses evidence-based approaches, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), to help clients gradually face fears, reduce avoidance, and build confidence. When working with children and adolescents, Summer also incorporates the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) approach to help parents reduce accommodations and support their child in developing greater independence from anxiety.
Anxiety and OCD can impact not only the individual, but the entire family system as well. Summer recognizes how demanding this work can be and balances implementing effective treatment methods with helping clients move at a pace that feels best for them every step of the way.
