INTRO TO THE ENNEAGRAM

PRESENTER
Nan Henson

DESCRIPTION
The Enneagram is an easy to learn yet comprehensive tool for understanding our unique personality. The nine pointed Enneagram symbol represents 9 personality types each with its own world view, own unique way communicating, problem solving and relating. Each Type also has unique gifts and stumbling blocks. While they have much in common, each Type has its own set of behaviors and attitudes, reactions and defenses. Each Type has its own Personality. It is as if we all speak nine different languages. Imagine how much better our families, our relationships, our business encounters, our churches and communities and even our politics would be if we could find a way to clearly understand one another's language! The Enneagram is just such a tool. It helps us see through more than our own lens and in doing so our ability for understanding and compassion grow. In this workshop we can learn how to improve communication, enhance our relationships and unlock the secrets to why we behave the way we do. This will lead us to develop more compassion for ourselves and for others.

LEVELS, WINGS & ARROWS

PRESENTER
Nan Henson

DESCRIPTION
If you have taken our "Intro to the Enneagram" class and want to go a little further in your studies this is perfect next step.

This class will cover and define:

"Levels" -The Levels, a foundational piece uncovered and developed by Don Riso are a measure of our capacity to be present. As we move down the levels we are more identified with our ego and our personality. Our patterns become more restrictive. We have less freedom, less openness as we move down the levels. We are leaving Presence and falling asleep to who we really are.

The movement towards health happens as we are more present and awake in our bodies, hearts and minds. When we are more present we are less identified with the defensive structures of our personalities. We are more in tune with what is happening in the moment. We wake up.

"Wings"-Wings are simply found by looking to the right and to the left of your dominant Enneagram Type. The healthy qualities of your wings are available to help you. They give you support, they add flavor… like a spice packet. In the same way, the unhealthy qualities of your wings can be stumbling blocks. Depending on where you put your focus, your wings can either support you or cause you to suffer.

"Arrows" - On the Enneagram symbol, each point is connected to two others by Arrows. The direction of the arrows show where each Type goes when under stress and in growth. Both the high sides and low sides of these two types inform us. The stress points describe how we constrict and behave when we are overwhelmed. Our direction of growth allows us to see how we integrate the healthy potential of our growth type.

SCREAMFREE PARENTING - THE POWER OF CALM

PRESENTER
Milena Garcia Skollar, LCSW

DESCRIPTION
Parenting is not about kids; it's about parents. If you're not in control, then you cannot be in charge. What every kid really needs are parents who are able to keep their cool no matter what. Easier said than done? Yes, but in our group, you will learn the principle-based approach that will inspire you to truly revolutionize your family dynamics. Moving beyond the child-centered focus, we will learn and practice the ScreamFree principles, share triumphs and failures (especially the leader's), and laugh along the way! The goal is to compel you to focus on yourself, calm yourself down, and grow yourself up.

Milena will help you (parents/caretakers) incorporate the principles for overcoming the anxieties and stresses of parenting and setting new patterns of connection and cooperation. You CAN become calming authorities in you home, bring peace to your family, and give kids what they need to grow into caring, self-directed adults.

THE ENNEAGRAM & RELATIONSHIPS - AUTHORIZED

PRESENTER
Nan Henson

DESCRIPTION
Intimate and Professional

Relationships are one of the most rewarding - as well as one of the most frustrating -aspects of our existence. Whether in intimate or work settings, the quality of our relationships has an enormous impact on the quality of our lives, on our self-esteem, and on our careers. Yet, we often find the behavior of others baffling—even if we have known them intimately for many years. Often, the very things that we do not understand in others are the greatest sources of problems and conflicts in our relationships. Clearly, the better we know ourselves and the people in our lives, the more harmonious and satisfying our relationships will be.

The Enneagram can help us tremendously in understanding our relationships. It is a remarkable system of nine basic personality types that sheds light on the most important psychological dynamics in our personality, as well as on the deeper spiritual yearnings of our soul. Each type has its own set of strengths, vulnerabilities, and perceptions of the world. The Enneagram can help us to realize who we are and what our greatest potentials might be, as well as to make sense of the sometimes confusing behavior of others.

Participants will be guided to use the Enneagram as a profound and immensely practical way to understand their relationships with others, both intimate and professional. We will cover particular dynamics among the different types, effective methods for communicating with each type, and the ways in which the three Instinctual Variants (Subtypes) affect our main motivations in relationships.

The Insight Approach® will be used, employing interactive exercises, guided meditations, panels of exemplars, music, and other techniques to help participants recognize personal strengths as well as to uncover the blind spots that they bring to their relationships. If you want to improve your relationship with a spouse, child, friend, business associate, or family member, this Workshop will be invaluable.

A follow up Email with more details will be sent closer to the time of the Workshop.
