SUMMER ALVAREZ, M.Ed., LPC

Summer Alvarez is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in treating individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and depression. She holds both a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Georgia.

Summer is deeply committed to creating a safe, collaborative, and person-centered therapeutic space where individuals and families can work through challenges with compassion and support. Her clinical experience spans all levels of care. Prior to entering private practice, she worked at an eating disorder treatment center, supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in recovery at the inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization levels of care. After transitioning to outpatient private practice, she continues to specialize in eating disorders along with anxiety, depression, and OCD.

Summer integrates a variety of evidence-based approaches into her work, tailoring treatment to each individual’s unique needs. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).
