KAYLA PHILLIPS, MA, APC
Kayla Phillips is an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) who understands that experiencing pain and brokenness is a part of life. Kayla also recognizes that our wounds don’t have to define us. Instead, they can be catalysts for resilience, growth, and compassion. Kayla strives to provide a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental landing place for clients to be their full, authentic selves, where they can explore the hurt or scary parts of themselves and their stories that may feel overwhelming, unfamiliar, or confusing. Kayla sees counseling as a partnership and enjoys coming alongside clients, supporting them in their healing journeys and collaborating with them to reach their specific goals.

Kayla’s approach with clients is warm, empathetic, and compassionate. She takes a holistic perspective to therapy, firmly believing that mental, physical, spiritual, and relational health are all crucial components of optimal well-being and living a full life. Kayla’s theoretical approach is informed from an integrative and person-centered perspective that utilizes evidence-based therapies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RODBT).
Kayla also enjoys providing support to clients through the lens of a Christian perspective upon request. With a deep understanding of the integration of faith and mental health, she creates a safe space where individuals can explore their challenges and find hope rooted in Biblical principles. By blending evidence-based therapeutic approaches through a Christian lens, Kayla helps clients navigate life’s struggles while fostering spiritual growth, healing, and resilience.
Kayla received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. In addition to working in a private practice setting, Kayla has experience treating eating disorders at a nonprofit treatment center as well as substance abuse at a PHP/IOP treatment center. She is experienced in working collaboratively with a treatment team involving a dietitian and/or a physician.
Kayla is under the supervision of Amanda Marks (ResilientCounseling.net), LPC, RYT, CPCS, as she pursues independent licensure.
