Over the last few years, she has taken courses in ADHD, autism, crisis management, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), compassion-based cognitive therapy, positive psychology and mindfulness, and has incorporated all of these into her practice.

Jo worked directly with Stanley Greenspan, MD, and Serena Wieder, PhD, creators of Floortime - a relationship-based model for children with autism; and served on the international faculty of DIR® (Developmental, Individual difference, Relationship-based) Institute. She has worked in psychiatric, acute care and rehabilitation hospitals; in two different Atlanta-area schools with children (pre-K – eighth grade); in mental health clinics; and in private practice.
