Destiny Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in supporting individuals and families impacted by invisible illnesses and disabilities. With advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, she empowers clients to manage chronic pain, reconnect mind and body, and cultivate joy in their relationships. As a former family liaison, Destiny brings a unique perspective to her work, helping clients build strong communication, establish healthy boundaries, and foster a supportive community. She is passionate about utilizing evidence-based and holistic practices to equip clients with the tools they need to thrive. Destiny is also the host of The Chronic Illness Therapist Podcast.

Destiny provides support through workshops, 45- and 75-minute therapy sessions, three-hour therapy sessions, and three-day therapy intensives (3 hours per day).

SOMATIC EXPERIENCING

Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma. It recognizes that the body holds the key to unlocking emotional and psychological pain. By gently guiding clients to reconnect with their bodies, Destiny helps them process and release traumatic memories stored within the physical self. This approach empowers individuals to regain a sense of safety, resilience, and overall well-being. Destiny’s specialized training in Somatic Experiencing allows her to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their bodily sensations and experiences without fear, fostering healing and growth.

THERAPY FOR CHRONIC ILLNESS

Living with a chronic illness presents unique challenges that impact mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Destiny specializes in helping individuals navigate the complexities of chronic illness by providing compassionate and evidence-based support. Through therapy and in conjunction with clients’ medical team, clients learn to manage pain, reduce stress, and develop effective coping strategies. By addressing the emotional toll of chronic illness, individuals can improve their quality of life, strengthen relationships, and cultivate a greater sense of purpose and resilience.

THERAPY INTENSIVES

Therapy intensives can be a great way to accelerate your growth and reduce the amount of weekly sessions needed over the long-term. Intensives are best suited for those with a specific goal in mind.

Therapy intensives can be particularly beneficial for individuals managing chronic illness. Specific goals might include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing effective pain management strategies:
